Old(er) Buyers Overtake First Timers

A recent survey taken by Home Sale Network amongst its member estate agents has found a shift in the type of buyer entering the market today, compared to 10 years ago.

In 2002, the majority (48%) of survey respondents said that the homebuyer population was mostly made up of young buyers entering the market for the very first time, but 10 years on, this figure has dropped to just 1% of respondents indicating so.

Richard James Sell More Properties Than Competitors

Over the last year, upto 6th July 2012 independently verified data confirms we have sold more houses than our competitors.

In this period we sold 128 properties in the Wellingborough (NN8) area alone. We also sold many properties in the surrounding villages and area too. Our nearest competitor sold 28 houses less in the same period, which basically means we sell an extra property every other week compared to the second best agent in the area.

Is Your Property In Demand?

A recent survey has revealed the most popular property types currently available in the UK. Conducted by estate agency organisation, Home Sale Network amongst its members, the survey found that two and three bedroom houses topped the list.

Over 80% of survey respondents indicated that two to three bedroom houses were the most in demand property type amongst potential buyers. Four or more bedroom properties came second and two to three bedroom flats/apartments were third .

Rightmove say, Asking Prices Are Up But Land Registry, say Selling Prices Are Static or Falling

House sellers pushed up asking prices for the third consecutive month as buyers chased relatively few homes on the market, a survey has said.

Property website Rightmove said that asking prices rose by 2.4% in the past year to a UK average of £246,235.

But the latest Land Registry data suggested that prices at the point of sale were static or falling slightly.

Rightmove said a burst of new listings of properties for sale meant asking prices could now dip.

A recent survey conducted by Home Sale Network amongst its members indicates that rental properties are in short supply, whilst the number of potential tenants in the market is rising.

The majority of survey respondents reported up to a 10% decline over the last six months in the number of rental properties available on the market. A further quarter of members reported up to a 20% decline in stock levels.

Buyer Enquiries & Instructions On the Up, Says Home Sale Network

It may be chilly outside, but in the 2012 property market, things seem to be hotting up, with a recent Home Sale Network survey carried out amongst its members indicating an increase in both buyer enquiries and sales instructions.

Time is running out to take advantage…..

Time is running out for First Time Buyers to take advantage of the Stamp Duty Exemption or “Stamp Duty Holiday”.

At the moment First Time Buyers can buy a house upto the value of £250,000 and will not pay any Stamp Duty at all.

After the 24th March 2012, the duty will revert back to the normal level of 1% of the purchase price on properties between £125,000 and £250,000 and the 3% on purchases over £250,000.

What Quiet Period? Home Sale Network Reports Increase in Buyer Enquiries in Months Leading to December

A recent survey conducted by Home Sale Network amongst its members indicated that the number of buyer enquiries and instructions in December 2011 increased when compared to November 2011.

72% of the Network’s survey respondents saw up to a 20% increase in the number of buyer enquiries in December 2011 compared to the previous month.
